Favorite Pins Friday

July 12, 2013 By Rachel 6 Comments

Happy Friday Y’all!

I’m linking up with Cara from The First Grade Parade today to share my favorite pins from this week!
Most of my Pinterest Boards (<<feel free to follow them!) are school-related because that’s all I’m really thinking about lately!  But I’ll share a variety of pins with you because what teacher is just a teacher!

School-Related Pins:

Bulletin Board Awnings from Teach On.
She gives a great tutorial on how to create these beauties!
How To Awnings!
Using tape to organize notebooks from Cleverly Inspired.
I’m going to use this idea for my students to find their notebooks faster.  I feel like I’m always saying “The notebook with the red writing that says Math!”  🙂
Use color tape to organize notebooks
Organizing a whiteboard from Fifth in the Middle.
Love how everything is in one place!
Whiteboard
I’ve had this one from Dots-n-Spots for a while, but I’m implementing Guided Math this year and love how this looks!
Tackling Math Workshop
Not School Related Pins:

Just a Girl had a guest Post from View Along the Way
that gave these great ways to make cute curtains!
Curtains!
Love this Ikea shoe storage.
I’m wanting to organize my closet (again!)
and this would be perfect.
ikea shoe drawers. Holds 27 pairs. Need this!!!
Have been really wanting to make a burlap wreath
like this one from Dots-n-Spots

I made this recipe from The Frugal Girls.
I’m not that great of a cook, so I’m all about easy!
It was quite tasty!  I definitely will repeat it!
Crockpot Orange Chicken Recipe 4 - 5 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts 3/4 cp Orange Marmalade 3/4 cp BBQ Sauce 2 tbsp. Soy Sauce Cook chicken in crock pot on high for 3 hours {covered}. After 3 hours, drain juices from crockpot. Mix together BBQ sauce, orange marmalade and soy sauce. Pour mixture over chicken, cover and cook on high for 30 more minutes.
This is totally how I feel about the Dollar Spot right now!!
Except I do need quite a bit of it!
story of my life.
Pretty much sums it up right now!
I need to stop pinning and actually start creating this stuff!
I’m off to pin more school ideas, um, I mean actually do these ideas!
Have a great weekend!!

What do you use to keep your students organized? What do you use to keep your students organized? We are using these boxes that used to hold all of our books. But since we can’t use our cubbies...we had to change things up!! Is that not a metaphor for this crazy year or what?! 🤪
I’ve really struggled this year... I’ve strug I’ve really struggled this year... I’ve struggled to enjoy teaching this year. And because of that, I’ve stayed away for social media for the most part. I’ve struggled with not wanting to hear about the amazing things others are doing because it made me feel sad that I wasn’t excited. I’ve struggled with not being able to hear about other teachers struggles because it would make me feel worse. But I will say for the first time since August there’s hope because slowly but surely my creativity is peeking through. I hope it sticks around. I’m sorry I haven’t been around lately...I just didn’t think it would be this hard.

Fall has quickly become one of my favorite seasons Fall has quickly become one of my favorite seasons. If I’m being honest, I never really experienced fall. I lived near the coast of South Carolina my entire life, so fall for us was when the temperature dropped into the 80’s. After 36 years, I moved to the upstate near the mountains and now I know what fall really is and all I can say is I AM IN LOVE!! 🍁🍂 What’s your favorite season?

When I first moved to 4th grade, I was so nervouse to teach this because I didn't get it, but now I see the benefits of using strategies like this to teach multiplication. One way I try to engage students in tougher concepts is letting them write on their desks with dry erase markers. It's such a simple engagement trick! What do you do to spice up your tougher lessons?
