One Tired Teacher

August 25, 2013 By Rachel

Ain't no tired like teacher tired...
If you’re not a teacher you just don’t quite understand.

Y’all this week has kicked my butt!  Is this my age showing?  I hope not!  I’m finally feeling normal today.  I apologize for my lack of blogging.  I knew once school started I wouldn’t post as often but I even slacked on my blog reading.  Look at what was waiting for me this morning!
A couple hours later and I’m all caught up!

So what have I been up too??
Our first day was Wednesday!
My first-day outfit…I got a lot of compliments on it…so it definitely was a good purchase.  Sorry for the poor quality of lighting and picture…it was early y’all!

I have the best class ever!
I know it’s only been 3 days but I love them!  They are such a sweet group!!
I only took 1 picture this week!  I know…bad blogger!  (I keep having great ideas of posts I want to write and then I realize I didn’t take any pictures!  I’ll get better…I promise hope!)
We did the band-aid activity that Jivey posted about.  You can check it out here!  The kids thought it was so funny that I kept putting band-aids on their elbows.  It was a great activity to teach the concept of fair!
This freebie from Technology Rocks. Seriously (She has a lot of great printables!) is now hanging on our wall to remind us.

And last but certainly not least…I met Darius Rucker yesterday!
Darius (since we’re friend now!) attended schools in Charleston County and each year, he and the band hosts The Hootie and the Blowfish Homegrown Roundup!
The band has a two day concert where fans are asked to bring in school supplies. There is also an event where students come to get free school supplies, clothes, haircuts, vision and dental screenings and so much more! Our school was lucky enough to participate this year!  It was so fun seeing our kiddos with all of their goodies!  And of course seeing…Darius!  It is such a great event that even an NBC Nightly News crew were there.  They are doing a piece on it tonight at 6:30!
Well…now that we’re all caught up with what’s been going on in my life…how are things in your world?

You got to met Darius?! I'm so jealous! I have always wanted to go to one of his concerts on Daniel Island, but have never made it! The last time I saw him was in Atlanta in 95!

That's fantastic that Darius supports our students! Very cool when celebrities and musicians give back.
