It’s FRIDAY!!

October 18, 2013 By Rachel

I have finally made a Five for Friday post!!
I have tried to link up every Friday since the end of August and it just hasn’t happened!
But here I am!  I made it!!
We made arrays with Halloween stickers!  It was fun!
The Ned Show came to our school last week!  It was an end of the month celebration for students who didn’t receive and office referrals.  It’s a free program that promotes positive behaviors and how to be a champion!  The kids love its!! Check out their site here and the video below!  I highly recommend it!
I put my second product in my Teachers Pay Teachers store!!  I so enjoy making products!  I’m building it slow but steady.  If you’re interested in winning this product you can check out my fabulous blogging buddy’s giveaway…Crafting Connections!

October is very different for me this year.
As most of you know, it is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
But like I said it’s different.
You see…my teammate was diagnosed with breast cancer right before school started.  She is an incredible woman and teacher.  I can’t begin to tell you how selfless and giving she is.  She would do anything for anybody in a heartbeat and never ask what is in it for her. I am so proud to not only call her my teammate but call her my friend.
Normally I didn’t think a whole lot about it. I always wore pink the day that my district recognized it, but I just knew I needed wanted to do more.
Our grade level decided that every Friday during this month, we would wear pink.  We asked our students to join us and really anybody in the school who wanted to be a part of it.
My team with our matching shirts!
We taught a mini-lesson about awareness and then we had each 3rd-grade student sign a pink ribbon.
We put all the ribbons together to make a big ribbon to display in the hallway with some facts about breast cancer. We surprised our teammate with the display!
I also gave this pumpkin that I made to my teammate because there is always HOPE!
If you are interested in supporting Breast Cancer Research, Teachers Pay Teachers has a fantastic opportunity for you to do so.  Several teachers came together to create educational bundles to raise money.  There are bundles for Math and ELA for K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.  There’s also a bundle for clipart!
It’s really a great deal for everything that you get!  And you are helping a great cause!!
Which brings me to number
I am walking a 5K tomorrow with several of my coworkers.
I’m a little nervous because I’m waayy out of shape…but it’s not about me!
Have a relaxing weekend!!!

Rachel thank you for the lovely comment. I could not continue to teach without the help of my team, and I did not know you made my beautiful pumpkin. I am so very blessed that I have you and the others on my team. Thanks for all you do to make this time easier!

      I love your Halloween arrays!

Good luck in the Walk for the Cure! I have participated in this many times. The crowd definitely makes it easier. There is such overwhelming support for this cause. I admire everything you did at school to show your support!
