October Monday Made-It

October 14, 2013 By Rachel

I just love this linky party!  I love seeing all the fantastic crafts out there in blog land!  And I love sharing with you what I’ve made!!
So here’s a couple of easy projects I made.  Not really school related but crafting none the less!
First up is a wreath I made for football season!
All you need is a wreath and lots of ribbons.

I tied a long ribbon at the top.  This is what I used to hang the wreath.
Next, I cut all the ribbon in about 12 inches long.  I think this was really too long and next time I do this, I will only cut it about 8-10 inches.
Then I tied the ribbons in double knots.
 Around and around I go.
While I was tying the ribbons, I also painted the wooden letters I found at AC Moore.  I took 3 coats of white craft paint.
Here’s the finished product!  The little football I also found at AC Moore.  I really love it!  Too bad the Giants are…well…TERRIBLE right now!  Oh well! :/
The next project was a gift to a coworker.
I bought a black pumpkin and the letter stickers.  I already had the paint and brush.
I taped off the stem with painters tape.
I used push pins in the bottom to hold the pumpkin so I could paint the bottom. It took a good 3 coats!
After it dried, I used the stickers to spell out the word HOPE.  I had a couple of little gems that were also stickers.
I then took a pink glitter ribbon and attached it with a pink straight pin.
I loved how it turned out too!
I can’t wait to see everyone’s projects!  Head over to 4th Grade Frolics to check out more!

Your ribbon wreath is so cute. I need to make a Saints one. I really like your pink Hope pumpkin also. That was very sweet for you to make for your friend.

I love your wreath, even though I am a Browns fan. (Yikes! Did I just admit that?!)

The hope pumpkin is awesome. What a thoughtful idea!

I love both of the items you created! You've inspired me to try a Halloween-colors wreath – you make it look so easy, and it'll be so festive on our door on Halloween when the kiddos come up to the door trick-or-treating! I look forward to seeing what you have to share with us next week! 🙂

Love your wreath and pumpkin! Can I hire you out to do some work for me? I'm feeling anti-crafty right now ;)…

I might need to buy some orange, white, and black and ribbon and try to make myself a Bengals wreath. It would look great on my door and they're actually doing okay this year. It's not often I can show some Who Dey pride 🙂 🙂
