Crazy Week

January 31, 2014 By Rachel

 What a week!
Last weekend I had a cold that knocked me out!
I haven’t had a cold that put me in the bed for a couple days like that in a really long time.
I was really looking forward to a normal week and the Leon showed up.
Now, I know that many of you will think this is crazy, but this is the south.  We don’t handle ice and snow very well!  We had a 4 hour school day Tuesday, school was cancelled Wednesday and Thursday, and we had a 2 hour delay today!  It was a little too much ice for this southern town to handle! Here are a few pictures of  our ice storm.  I was totally bummed we didn’t get more snow.

I was very productive during my days off!  I was able to make a fun Olympic Challenge for my students!  I love the Olympics and hope to share that love with my students.  Students will watch the Olympics to complete the different tasks. If you’d like a copy, this is free in my TpT store.

Being sick through me off track with my healthy eating goals.  I have no excuses.  I’m working on it today and will share more tomorrow in my Slim Down Saturday post.  (FYI…if you’ve been following me…I get to weigh in tomorrow!)

We are studying Rocks and Minerals and we did a fun experiment from Jessica’s packet!
Rocks & MInerals Interactive Science Notebook
We made s’more rocks!  It was so fun and tasty.  Unfortunately, this was the beginning of my sickness and I forgot to take pictures.  Sorry!
All I can say is…I’m ready for some normalcy!
Happy Friday!!

Being sick is one of the worst ways to fall off healthy eating! Kuddos to hanging in there!

Girl, I hear ya! My reaction to being sick is to cry and call my mom. Good luck with your weigh in! I hopped on over from Doodle Bug's FFF and now I'm your newest follower!

This Iowa gal says that ice looks NASTY! Ice is the worst…I'd take inches of snow over a thin layer of ice any day! Love your Olympic freebie, too. Thanks!

I'm glad you are feeling better! Being sick always throws me off completely.

The s'more rocks sound like a lot of fun. Every time I see a cool science activity like that, it make me really miss teaching science.

      Have a great weekend!

I am SO glad the ice is gone. It was a fun two days off, but I wouldn't want to go through that every winter. I was about to climb the walls. I'd rather drive through a Tropical Storm or Hurricane than an icy road. Glad you're feeling better! xo
